What does everyone think of Derek?
I think Derek has a great ability, but I do think Most Haunted pushed him to far, and thats why he started making mistakes. I personnally think he is a legend!

I agree that in most haunted he must of felt presured to go tro new lenghs but I do not respect him for obviously being dis-honest, it has been tested and prooved that he has lied in the past. If he is true I would find it much more comfortable believing if he played a honest card in his game. I am not going to jump to conclusions about him and make huge judgements but if he wants to proove anything to me he's got somthing to really proove.
Peace out x |

I would love to work with Derek myself. I think it would awesome.
Look at his bio....
Derek Acorah is a full-time professional spirit medium. He lives near Southport, North West England, with his wife Gwen, two German shepherd dogs and four cats.
Derek's first supernatural experience came as a child, when the spirit of his late grandfather visited him. When young Derek told his grandmother, she was not surprised. Derek later learned that she, too, was a medium.
Though he spent his early career playing professional soccer with teams such as the legendary Bill Shankly’s Liverpool Football Club and the premier Australian team USC Lion, his psychic powers were always with him. He returned to England in the early 1980s and became a full-time spirit medium based in his home city of Liverpool.
In recent years, Derek has achieved international success with his television, radio and personal appearances across Europe, the Middle East and United States. He has undertaken telephone consultations for people as far south as India, Australia and New Zealand. In October 1997, he was invited to take part in a tour of the Middle East and appeared at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dubai, the Brit Club in Abu Dhabi and the Hotel Inter-Continental in the desert location of Al-Ain.
In December 1998, Derek was proud to be accepted as an investigator with the International Society for Paranormal Research (ISPR), which was founded by parapsychologist Larry Montz in 1972. For more than 25 years, ISPR investigators have revolutionized paranormal field research, and assisted thousands who have experienced paranormal phenomena.
In January 1999, Derek went to Los Angeles to meet Dr. Montz and the other ISPR team members to participate in an investigation of a haunted Hollywood mansion. He also took part in an investigation of the famous Comedy Store, once known as Ciro’s, a haunt of many legendary Hollywood stars. It was here that Derek communicated with Sean Flynn, the missing son of the late actor Errol Flynn. Sean was a photographer who became lost in Vietnam, never to be found.
While in Hollywood, Derek achieved one of his dearest dreams by performing live at the famous Vogue Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. The audience, which included some of the biggest movers and shakers in the entertainment industry, gave Derek rave reviews.
Derek recently worked with a team of investigators and parapsychologists to film Most Haunted, already a popular television series in the United Kingdom, and sure to be one of the most exciting programs on paranormal activity ever to hit your television screens!
Watch as he uncovers the mysteries of some of the most haunted sites in the country. Most Haunted — you will not believe your eyes!

did you no that dereks spirit guide is a friend he had in his past life, he lived in africa somewhere over 2000 years ago. he was a part of a large farming family, the village he lives in was attacked and all of his family was killed. a man named Masumai came and looked over him. they travelled around the countryside for months.
this is from his website:
Months passed and we found ourselves in an area which was unknown even to Masumai. He told me that he did not know the area or the people, so we would have to be careful in our approach. We discovered that they were not very friendly people and had no regard to the teachings of Masumai. We decided that we would move on. We both felt that these people could be similar to those who had attacked my village four years prior. We carried on walking until we reached a small hill which had bushes on its slopes, and which would provide some cover for us for the night. We were both very hungry. Masumai asked me to find some small pieces of wood so that we could light a fire and at least be warm. I moved further and further away until I reached the edge of the village through which we had passed earlier. I noticed a delicious smell of fresh baked bread coming from one of the dwellings. Although I knew it was wrong to steal, I thought of how hungry and tired Masumai had looked and how much he had helped me and cared for me. I crawled very slowly up to a shelf where loaves of bread were on display. I grabbed three small loaves and crawled away.
I was almost back to where Masumai and I had set up camp for the night when I heard shouting and screaming. Before I knew it I was surrounded by a circle of men. I felt a harsh pain in my side and then in my leg. I fell down. I felt as though I was falling backwards, backwards.… but at peace…. No more pain. I lost consciousness and my attackers obviously thought that I was dead as they left and went back to their village.
The next thing I remember is hearing the voice I loved and trusted. It was Masumai. He held me in his arms and cried, his tears falling on my chest. I told him not to cry… that there was bread hidden in my clothes.
From that day onwards my grandmother gently tutored me and explained to me the workings of the spirit world. She taught me that we all have Spirit Guides and that I was no exception. She told me that throughout my lifetime many guides would come and go as I progressed along my spiritual pathway but that my main guide was a black man from the Ethiopian region of 'Africa and that he would never leave me; that one day he would introduce himself to me.
One evening I was in my home alone. I had just completed my evening meditation and was sitting listening to some music. Suddenly I heard a voice. The voice said "Hello Derek". This was repeated four times. The voice then said "Hello Derek - I'm Sam". Even though I was perfectly well aware that I was alone, I looked around expecting to see somebody. There was nobody there! Realisation dawned. At last! My Spirit Guide had spoken to me. The words that my grandmother had uttered all those years ago had come true.
Long into that night we spoke to each other. Sam explained to me that the impressions and images that I had been receiving over all the years of my development regarding my past life in Ethiopia were "flash backs" to a time gone by when we had travelled together after the loss of my family in a village feud. He told me that he was fulfilling the promise he made 2000 years ago when he said that he would be my guiding influence from the heavenly side; that he wold never forsake that young boy who had given his life in order that Masumai might eat. But why "Sam" and not "Masumai" you ask yourself. The reason is simple. It is Sam's wish that he be known by that name and not by the ancient name of "Masumai" of those long ago days in Ethiopia. He knew that I would be reincarnated into a white, Western world and would not go back to the country where we both met.
that is from his website, i think it is a brilliant story. |

Personally I'm not sure to believe whether or not Spirit mediums are truthful but there has been some instances where it is difficult not to believe. And regardless of his acting qualities on Most haunted he seems a nice bloke though the things he says and does are at least, questionable

Im not to sure with Derek Anymore. Problem is that sometimes he comes up with things that you just think, 'how the hell did he get that' hence with that mh live show at Wood Chester mansion, when he came up with that person where only one person could possibly know. But then you get the Kreed thing whatever it was..... you know it makes you think.
But met a couple of times, and hes a really nice guy.
